CCAR's Recovery Coach Academy (RCA) is a 5 day (30 hour) ASAP NYCB and OASAS approved certificate course, considered to be the gold standard for Recovery Coaching and Peer Support. This workshop offers an innovative approach to helping people heal from the devastating effects of addiction, whether they are currently seeking recovery, in early recovery, or looking to deepen and sustain their recovery. If you are considering a career as a recovery coach or peer advocate, or you simply want to learn more effective methods for supporting people through their recovery process, this workshop will enlighten and inspire you. Peer recovery coaches can play a vital role in the addiction treatment and aftercare continuum of care and many more coaches are needed to support the growing need for community-based recovery resources.

“People don't recover in treatment (though this is often where recovery is initiated); they recover in their communities.
Become a recovery warrior and help end the stigma of addiction
and shine the light on recovery!
People DO recover!  Be part of the solution!”

To learn more about the exciting career opportunities and application requirements for the CRPA (Certified Recovery Peer Advocate) and CARC (Certified Addiction Recovery Coach) NYS Certifications, visit: New York Certification Board website. NYS Medicaid reimburses treatment and recovery agencies for Peer Recovery Services (CRPA), evidence that the practice & role of the Recovery Peer Advocate/Coach is valued and effective in supporting a person's sustainable recovery. Keith and Lori made the virtual training experience one to remember for me! I have taken many other online trainings for work and I couldn’t maintain focus at times because it seemed monotonous. They on the other hand made the training so inclusive and interactive, that I was able to take in so much information and able to retain it! They are very skilled facilitators!

The interactive nature of the content and the clear passion that both Keith and Lori have on this subject, this is one of the best trainings that I have ever taken and I am sending my husband to take it next!

I truly enjoyed learning from Lori and Keith. They were a wealth of knowledge and their stance on how to actually help people struggling in active addiction was one of the most powerful and compassionate teachings I’ve ever heard.
— Zoom RCA Class Participant, January 2022
I have taken many treatment and recovery-based trainings but I am very excited to bring the skills and values I learned here back to my practice. Lori & Keith are incredible teachers and I highly recommend this training for Peer Coaches and Clinicians.
